AI Clarity ("we", "us", "our") operates the website aiclarity.com.au and sells digital products through Gumroad. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1. What We Collect

Website visitors:

  • Analytics data — Cloudflare Web Analytics collects anonymized page views, referrer, country, device type, and browser. No cookies are set. No personal data is collected. No cross-site tracking.
  • Server logs — Cloudflare Pages may log IP addresses, request timestamps, and URLs for security and performance. These are retained per Cloudflare's data retention policy and are not accessed by AI Clarity except for security investigation.

Product purchasers (via Gumroad):

  • Email address — provided at checkout for order confirmation and product delivery.
  • Name — if provided at checkout.
  • Payment information — processed entirely by Gumroad. AI Clarity never receives or stores credit card numbers, bank details, or payment credentials.

Workshop attendees:

  • Name and email — for booking confirmation and workshop communications.
  • Company name — if provided for invoicing.

Email subscribers (lead magnet):

  • Email address — provided voluntarily to download free resources.

VS Code extension users (MinSpec, ScroogeLLM):

  • No personal data collected — extensions run entirely on your local machine. No telemetry, no analytics, no usage tracking, no network calls to AI Clarity servers.
  • No accounts required — no registration, no authentication, no user profiles.
  • Local data only — all spec files, configuration, session data, cost logs, and caching data remain on your local filesystem.
  • API keys (ScroogeLLM only) — stored exclusively in your operating system's secure keychain (macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager, or libsecret on Linux). Never stored in plaintext. Never transmitted to AI Clarity. Only sent to the LLM API providers you explicitly configure.
  • LLM API requests (ScroogeLLM only) — proxied through a localhost-only server on your machine. Requests are forwarded only to your configured providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic). AI Clarity never sees, intercepts, or stores your API traffic.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Deliver purchased products and updates (up to 12 months).
  • Send workshop booking confirmations and logistics.
  • Send occasional product updates to email subscribers (opt-out available in every email).
  • VS Code extensions collect no data — there is nothing to use.
  • Analyze anonymized website traffic to improve content.
  • Respond to support inquiries.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

Our VS Code extensions (MinSpec, ScroogeLLM) do not use any third-party services. ScroogeLLM forwards API requests only to providers you explicitly configure with your own API keys.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising trackers.

4. Cookies

This website sets no first-party cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookie-free. Third-party services (Gumroad, Google Fonts) may set their own cookies subject to their policies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

5. Data Retention

  • Purchase records — retained by Gumroad per their policies. AI Clarity retains email addresses for product update delivery.
  • Email subscribers — retained until you unsubscribe.
  • Analytics data — anonymized, retained per Cloudflare's policies.

6. Your Rights

You may:

  • Request access to personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of your data.
  • Unsubscribe from emails at any time via the link in each email.
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

7. Australian Privacy Act

AI Clarity complies with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you believe we have breached an APP, you may lodge a complaint with us or with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

8. International Visitors

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other jurisdiction with data protection laws, your data may be transferred to and processed in Australia. By using our website or purchasing our products, you consent to this transfer. We process data on the legal basis of contract performance (purchases), legitimate interest (analytics, security), and consent (email subscriptions).

9. Security

We use HTTPS across all pages, rely on Cloudflare's security infrastructure, and do not store payment credentials. Product source code is delivered through Gumroad's secure download system.

10. Children

Our products and services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the website or products after changes constitutes acceptance.
